It's still fairly safe, but such things that tease the supernatural (e.g. summoning rituals) can have devastating consequences. Of course...not all the time. A lot of the serious ones are hushed up, and sometimes it just doesn't happen, which makes people want to tempt fate more, I guess.
 === Zone 3 ===
-The outskirts. Typically agricultural, and some forest/mountains/wildernesses. If weird stuff happens in zone 2, even weirder stuff happens here; it's said to be extremely unsafe to do anything that involves going into the forest, hanging out in fields at night, etc. People here are extremely superstitious. Not to say that they're unfriendly, but anyone who's lived there for long enough tends to be fairly guarded and have some very deep-rooted beliefs. Cryptid sightings, etc. also are fairly common, though as usual, no one has actually ever seen one up close.

 Unsure whether Iris should be based inside the danger zone, or outside of it. I do feel it makes sense for them to live outside of it and pick off the danger zone for souls to consume (with a certainty of being able to pass through the barrier safely), though it's pretty cool if they've learnt to live with the danger.
