Revision as of 08:01, 8 August 2020
I seriously should have started planning this earlier!! I have no time and need to get out a ton of ideas to work through!! But I'll try!!
31 days, 25+ Revs, ??? number of cases
- The book itself needs some planning for content - it would work fine to generate excess content and then pare it down, but doing too much might cause burnout. Tentatively, I'd like to have 10-15 cases to showcase. They don't all have to be done in full now - probably prioritise having a lot of starter ideas over having them written out in detail.
- Not all the Revs have to be designed in full NOW but I would like some roughs to work with (no colours are fine). Characters can be refined/redesigned as I work on the assets.
- As Art Slam is a worldbuilding-centric activity, I'd like to have some locations showcased as well. Brainstorm the look of some places, do some aesthetic pics. I think this may be more writing than drawing. Also, other non-location information, such as objects, technology, etc.
- I think the important thing to note here is that I can't expect to have ALL the world content created in a single month - I've spent much longer on worlds that are barely developed at all. My focus here should be on generating a skeleton structure that I can flesh out as I work on the zine.

Week 1
In this week I'm still working on DV commissions, so I don't have a lot of extra time. Max of 2 drawing, 1 writing task a day, both fairly light (focusing on creating concepts/writing down existing content).
Non-character tasks are due up to the next catchup day, because sometimes I need time to chew on a concept.
Min task quota: 3 points
- Uncoloured doodles: 1 point
- Coloured doodles (ref-worthy): 2 points
- Per 1 section of page written: 1 point
(Have to do this otherwise I'll not feel my work is enough...)

Week 2
So, as it turns out, even the stuff from last week was A Lot to do, and I have other things that I also want to try doing in the meantime. For this week I'll greatly reduce the load, and if there's any time left over, I'll devote it to filling out the stuff from last week that I didn't manage to get to.
- The characters from here on out are not very fleshed out, so I don't have a lot to write about them. I can generate things, but Art Slam is, ultimately, an art-based challenge...so I'll only put down a character if there's any particular reason for them to exist. Better to draw.
- The min quota for everything is a sketch. That's all.
- However, I did a lot of stuff that had already been built last week. Focus on producing new ideas that can be fleshed out later.
